A note from the Hall President
Welcome to 2021! We made it through 2020. And we, the officers and Board of the ECCC, could not have done it without your amazing support. When last I wrote we were in uncharted waters. We had bills to pay and needed to raise operating funds while keeping everyone safe. The support you gave us was amazing. Through our Pie/Bean Hole Bean sales, Moe’s BBQ's "adopt ECCC Day," our take away Beef Smother Supper, our summer/fall raffle, our wreath sale, bottle donations and special donations your responses got us to the end of 2020 in good shape. Thank you! Thank you!! 2021 so far is more uncharted territory. Hopefully by spring we will be heralding the return of our monthly summer suppers and people will be able to gather to celebrate life’s milestones in the dining hall and auditorium. We miss all of you!! Until that time please stay safe and take care of each other. As Comins Hall enters its 143rd year of serving the community please know your support is vital and appreciated. Thank you for everything you have done and given. On to 2021!!! Susan Dunham Shane, President, ECCC |
Wreath Fundraiser Was A Huge Success!
Our 2nd Wreath Fundraiser Was a Huge Success thanks to all of you who got your greenery from us, here at Comin's Hall! In 2019 we started a new fundraiser – selling decorated and undecorated wreaths. We were really happy to sell almost 190 wreaths. It was a fundraiser worth repeating. Enter 2020... This year we sold over 270 wreaths and and after expenses raised over $2300!!! WOW! This money will help cover winter expenses and build up reserves to help fund our 2020 projects. Our thanks to all who ordered wreaths, all who worked to gather natural decorations, and all who cheerfully gathered to decorate the wreaths. Once again, community support helps us in every way. Thank you all. Shooting for 300 orders in 2021! |
Thank you all for coming to our fundraiser on the 3rd!
Wow! We were blown away by the response. What we do know for sure:You all love bean hole beans and pie!!! Thanks for waiting patiently in that long line. You showed your support and we will be back with more pies and beans soon. Keep checking our website and FB page for updates. Thanks again for supporting Comins Hall. |
A Message From The Hall President
Everything in our lives are, as the saying goes,“at 6s and 7s” this summer. Constantly changing rules to help protect each other from the threat of COVID 19 means that planning events cannot be written in stone. We have posted our planned events for this year on our Events page. Please stop by our website and FB page often to keep up with changes as they happen. Comins Hall has for 141 years been a place for the community to gather for suppers, entertainment, celebrate family milestones, and local groups to meet. We are here for the long haul and won’t give up no matter what bumps show up in the road. Thank you for your support in the past and in the future. ~Susan Dunham Shane, President |
Bottle Shed
Thank you to all who help the Hall raise money for its expenses by dropping your returnable bottles at our bottle shed. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Our shed is available all year round. |
The Roof is Done!
Thanks to a Belvedier Grant from the Maine Community Foundation and generous donations from you, our friends of Comins Hall, we have a new roof to keep us dry for the next 25 years. Thank you Maine CF!! And don’t those 140 year old chimneys look great? Thank you Davis Family Foundation for the grant that made their restoration possible. |
